68 charger with amnesia build

K so like, i painted the bumpers, hung the door panels... and... cleaned it? yeah i haven't done a whole lot in these pictures, but immediately after them, i loaded my new spray gun with some flat black mixed with thinner, i resprayed just about everything, it looks great-ish  but before i could even let it fully dry, i heard thunder, and hurried to put it in, so no pictures... yet... but atleast i can drool over it in my mind

Your guess is as good as mine  , i'm going to gradually collect parts i need, basic engine peices, linkage, pullys, a water pump housing, clutch componants, a driveshaft, upper rear shock
mounts, ALOT of bolts  .... Man i need to make a thorough list

So, im back on this thing, after finding that junkyard i've posted about before i've been collecting parts that would work on the charger, primarily engine peices. most of the cars have been picked over, but theres a few c-body cars with the hoods stuck shut that could be promising.  I'd like to find an old distributor to modify, and old starter to rebuild a water pump housing, and front pullys. as well as electrical connectors and such.

With that i decided to start wiring up the charger, i have other things to do, brakes , fuel and brake lines rear shocks etc. But i had this speedway motors wiring set sitting in my basement for over a year now, so what the hell.

i stuck the fuse box on the trans tunnel because screw working under dashboards.. just.. screw it...











also stuck on some coronet sunvisors and a honda civic rearveiw mirror

Amazing job of scrounging parts off of miscellaneous cars and getting them to work on your build! I am anxiously waiting for you to get to the "starting it up" phase of your build!  Good job and keep it up!

So am i.. And to add to my parts list, 1998 honda civic brake light switch, 66 b-body gas pedal, 67 fury fastback water pump housing, 76 corvette wiring and.. sections of the rollers the car came with

I Broke the waterpump housing, then un-broke it, i just snapped a couple bolts in it, then extracted them with my welder and some nuts.

more wiring, i stuck in the civic brake switch, wiring up a couple gauges, the cigarette lighter and stuck in a water temp gauge.  

i repaired, modified and installed the 66 gas pedal, which seems to be shorter than a 68. ohwell, also modified the shifter to be closer to the steering wheel, which is now my favorite part of the car

Great work Baldwin. I hope you don't have a knuckle buster using your shifter near the cross bar. But I'm sure you measured the clearance.

Man, Knuckle busting is a daily routine with this thing 

So getting more electrical taken car of, like this little light panel that indicates high beams and turn signals like a spastic christmas tree.

started the exhaust with some junk j-bends i found and i reused one of the flanges, and bought another which was freaking 10$ 
all i need are some cherry bombs, and the full exhaust system is complete 

Next i needed turn signal lights, and while on my hunt for an exhaust flange i found these driving lights for 15$ in the discount bin at the local canadian tire.

they look ridiculous, but they're cheap and now i can yell "VTEC YO" and "JDM 4 LIFE"

To me, the manifolds look like a pissed off lobster

Not to be a buzz kill or put the cart before the horse kind of thing as you get the exhaust hooked up but have you ever had this thing running yet ?

no, and no, but when it does run (if it runs) i rather have the exhaust going out the back instead of bombarding the enginebay

maybe, but i still need a starter.. and a distributor.. and a flywheel... and sparkplugs... and a battery

Is the 413 distributor only from a 413 or will other Dodge ones fit ?

413 is an rb engine. 440 dist. Should work.

So i went on the hunt for a distributor and starter, i came up short, but found a wiper transmission a brake pedal bolt and master cylinder for a pre-67 car and.. In the same car.. Stick shift brake pedals.. yeah.. the strange part was that it had a floor shifter steering column, and no transmission hump  and it had a automatic floor shifter, so im not sure what that was about, still, 20$ brought all of this home

So i was trying to free up my seized wiper transmission, i got the driver side done, but i broke a tab off the passenger side, and it was still seized, i was upset, cause i hadn't the ability to weld aluminum, and even if i could it was still seized, so i had an idea, i cut off the base, weld on a steel sleeve and make a steel bracket 















There, a concors quality repair, AND IT WORKS NOW!

So I guess I do not have to look for one then 

I had to take mine apart also because they were stuck
I just took the grinder and ground off the end of the shaft that stuck through the lever
Pushed the shaft out of the aluminum housing (right full of dried rust and dirt around the shaft)
Cleaned it all up and mig welded the lever back onto the shaft
