idunno, catching fire seems like a cool bonus to it actually running  :scratchchin:  :coolgleamA:

You could make the car look like it had been set on fire, then have a tipped over gasoline container (cleaned out with no gas obviously) in plain sight in the back seat, stain the back seats to look like freshly spilled gas, throw some match books and cigarette stumps here and there, etc. and have flamethrower exhaust. That would get some attention and freak people out a little. It might also be illegal.. I don't know  :icon_smile_big:

WOOHOO I GOT MY EMAIL!!!

Thank you for your e-mail.

A rebuilt motor vehicle is a vehicle which has been constructed using various used or new component parts (e.g. body, chassis, frame, etc.) obtained from other vehicles, an auto wrecker, dealer or manufacturer.  If there is no Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or serial number associated with the main frame(s)/component(s), you may request for a ministry approved/assigned VIN to be applied at the time of registration in Ontario.

Before a rebuilt vehicle can be registered, it must comply with the minimum equipment standards under Part VI, Sections 61 - 113 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), which outlines the various equipment standards for different classes of vehicles.  In addition, Ontario Regulation 611 made under the authority of the HTA outlines the various inspection requirements and performance standards needed in order to obtain a Safety Standards Certificate (SSC) for motor vehicles.  You may view these standards at:

www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statutes/english/elaws_statutes_90h08_e.htm
www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/regs/english/elaws_regs_900611_e.htm

Once the above conditions have been met, the following items are to be presented at a ServiceOntario Driver and Vehicle Licence Issuing Office:

Application for Registration (form is available at any Issuing Office).
Sworn Affidavit (an affidavit is a sworn statement made before a Commissioner of Oaths or a Notary Public.  It is needed to establish vehicle ownership of all parts used in the vehicle's reconstruction, and to provide a full vehicle description).  The applicant must provide the following information on an affidavit:
o        A statement that the vehicle is being reconstructed by person declaring the affidavit (including full legal name, address and signature of person making the declaration);
o        A statement that applicant is the legal and rightful owner of the vehicle;

o        A statement outlining the construction of the body and where the vehicle parts were obtained (e.g. name, address, purchase date) and, if known, the name of the seller;

o        Attach the bill(s) of sale/invoice(s) for all materials/parts used in the construction of the vehicle;

o        Attach permit(s) for vehicle(s) used to rebuild the vehicle (for rebuilt/kit vehicle), if available;

o        Year vehicle was built; and

o        VIN/serial number or a statement that a ministry approved/assigned VIN will be assigned.

SSC (if vehicle to be registered as "fit").
Proof of Ontario insurance on the vehicle (if attaching a licence plate).
Proof of identity for applicant who has never registered a plate or vehicle with the ministry.

Taxes and fees to be paid as follows:

13% Harmonized Sales Tax on the declared value of the vehicle. For more information about taxes, please contact the Ministry of Finance at: 1-866-668-8297.
Plate & permit fees: (a) To register the vehicle and attach plates when the vehicle owner has his/her own plates $10; (b) For new plates and permit $22 ($23 effective November 1, 2013).
Note: For plate validation, the owner will be required to buy validation from the date of vehicle registration to the assigned validation expiry date.  Fees will be
calculated according to the class of vehicle and declaration(s) (e.g. Northern Ontario Resident).

If any of the components/parts used in construction were imported from outside of Canada, a Canada Customs Form or documentation with a Customs Clearance stamp for parts (e.g. body of vehicle) must also be presented.  For more information on importation, please contact the Registrar of Imported Vehicles at:  1-888-848-8240 or (416) 626-1803; website:  www.riv.ca.  Moreover, the vehicle cannot be registered as rebuilt if any major components (e.g. frame) used in the overall reconstruction have a brand of irreparable associated with them.

Sincerely,

Nikolay Zorko

you basically got the same answer my buddy did here in MD. Hell i got screwed on my car and ill have to try and get a title but ive already gone thru the channels and have to wait on a circuit court judge to say ok i can have a title and thats after being told to finish the car they apply. had the local state police come check my vins then run a 50 state search. luckly they work quick for me since im an officer as well  :nana:

Hmm so apparently finding pistons, headers and intake manifolds is going to be difficult  :scratchchin:

It could be depending on which 413 you have. Any way to get the numbers and decode it?

70 sublime

I think I read someplace if you bore it out .060 over you end up with 426 :)

all i could find was its build day, 6/18/71  :shruggy:

and a 426 ? neat, i could go around telling people i have a 426 68 charger  :rofl:

Old Tired Rebel

Hey if it's a 426 Wedge you have a power house for sure.

Baldwinvette77

k, so like 2 things, 1 i mounted my engine to be worked on, lots of room, located conveniently next to the entrance to the living room

2, a piece of the right side engine mount is broken off, i didnt do it because its been painted orange (not bare)

so, from what i hear welding on cast iron is alot like black magic, so... motorplate installation? or.. any other methods :shruggy: ... motorplates would look badassed  :scratchchin:

Old Tired Rebel

Motor plate might not be a bad idea. But I would find someone that has a lot of experience welding cast iron. Have you found out any more about your engine?

Thanks man  :2thumbs:

ok apparently broken mount ears are common on 74 and older blocks  :rotz: , i'll used a motorplate up front AND stock style engine mounts for re-enforcement  :coolgleamA:

I just hope it's not a motor home 413 if so can you reuse the pistons that are there?

t'is a motorhome 413, and yes the pistons will have to be reused, but all 8 of them and the cylinders are in amazing shape, unfortunately it will have a 7.5:1 comp. ratio  :'( .... on the bright side forced induction + low compression = more safe boost  :D

You might get a little more compression by shaving the heads. It's a easy way to pick up a point or 2,it's how we would raise them on 318.

fy469rtse

Deck the block , done that several times on a 400 and 383, just you will need to machine the intake to match as well, that's another way to get comp up
