Guess whose welding a tire iron to their car!!!! (it's me)

Prototyping a clutch pedal made from a tire iron, piece of the A/t brake pedal, and some scrap steel

still need to triangulate the mount and fully weld everything for strength but before i even bother i want to find a hydraulic or cable clutch setup to see if it will work with this pedal.

Also F%*K this camera, remind me to shoplift a new one  :2guns:

Great Idea for the clutch pedals.

I like the fact you are doing a lot with what you have instead of going out and buying a lot of parts to build a car that is unique.

69finder

HOW are you going to get all these parts to work together??! I'm amazed!  Keep going man, I looove it!!

:)

Because of you, I got my Charger on the ground (almost), front suspension in, rear member inserted!!

Didn't I read in the beginning of this thread that you would be able to title it?

Daytona R/T SE

Until it's titled in your name...

It's just a sculpture. :Twocents:

I really don't give a flying rat's ass if you flip it over in the front yard and

plant petunias in it.  :slap:  ::)

But... :scratchchin:

You've spent way too much time and effort on it just to find out later that some

Government  jackass with an anti-old car ax to grind won't let you title and register it.  :Twocents:

i was kidding anyway, Thanks for looking out  :2thumbs:

for some reason the local dmv either doesnt know what its doing, or doesnt care, a while back i sent an email to them about 4 paragraphs long asking if it was ok to swap vin numbers on 2 vettes i owned (had both titles in my name) they simply said: "yes, you can."

i have a feeling if i ask about getting a vin for this car they'll say: "yes, would you like fries with that"  ::)

If getting your title is that easy you should get it now
When you stand in front of them it will be a whole different story :)

69finder

He doesn't need a title.  We live in Canada.  NO TITLES.

We have registration and insurance, only.  Getting registration is not going to be a problem as he said.  Where I live the official, be all and end of all of 'ownership' is your bill of sale.  That's it.

So...

When he goes to register and insure it, and they ask...

"What's the Vehicle Identification Number ?"

And he says...

"I don't have one"...

...Then what? :shruggy:

Impound yard ?

Hand cuffs ?

Three hots and a cot sharing a cell with

a new best friend named "Bubba"? :shruggy:

The time to discover all of this, and get everything legal, in writing from who ever has the official

power to anoint this "vehicle" with a legal identification is now, not later. :Twocents:

Good man.

Get the legal stuff straightened out now.

Avoid heartache later.

Is that what happens in the US?  Here in Canada, they will probably shrug and say, 'go get one.'  Or, 'we can provide you a VIN tag if you go through this inspection process.'

I hand built a car with no VIN.  I went to the registry and they gave me a form, had it inspected and ta da, new VIN!

I've been to the registry where the VIN didn't exactly match the car (older car), they came right outside, looked at the vin and said, 'oh, the 8 looks like a 3', no problems, and fixed it right there.

Easy.
