This will dampen the Jolly Roger idea....

As long Rule 34 is a thing every idea can be crushed in such a manner, the jolly roger idea will stay, Surprise Assrape or not

With what you are doing and how you are doing it, I think Jolly Roger is a good name for it.

True his car has come a long way. I have a feeling it will come out better than he thinks.

i did various things today, some for fun, some out of boredom and some for progress.. im not sure which fall into which category yet, but anyway, i removed all the useless column shifter bits, i patched a badass rust spont in the hood, and stripped alot of the car to bare metal (any thing that had bondo or multiple paintjobs) parts that were wearing original pant (the passenger door only) i just sanded and sprayed overtop of.

Glad to see it progresses!

I'm coming to Canada in december, maybe we'll have the occasion to meet (I come to Montreal and then I don't know where we'll go) ?

Baldwin what welder are you using, with gas or without?

everything i did on this car right up to when i started my k-member was with a 200$ powerfist 230 series it was done with gas but it can use gasless wire too, since i completed my k-member im using a lincoln 280 series , its basically the same welder but its built stronger it was 800$ im not 100% convinced yet its a better welder, both to me seem to have the same capabilities, but if something breaks with the powerfist (like mine did) youre screwed, with the lincoln replacement parts are available.

i dont really like flux, it spatters alot, (can set fires easier, or burn you) and it is much harder to do sheet metal with it, even on the lowest heat setting i've metlted through things in milliseconds, so if you want to go that route practice alot before you touch your car

Thanks Baldwin, Did you learn how to weld on your Charger?

Baldwinvette77

kinda, i learned how to "weld" before the charger but i've improved a ton since i got it, almost a night and day difference, before i used to overlap patch panels, now i weld them flush together, well, to the best of my ability anyway

You're doing a great job. Hopefully I can get my welder soon.

Would be cool to have company  :icon_smile_big: , but would you be able to come to the toronto area?  :scratchchin:

Anyways slight, but noteworthy progress on the charger (aka stuff i would forget to post later)

i filled the hood pin holes that were, punched? into my hood?  :shruggy:

i will redrill holes later in a stronger, less rotted area  :coolgleamA:

also my uncle sent over 4 sheets of 40 x 20 inch stainless, any guesses  to what 4 interior panels these will be turned into?

Baldwinvette77

God i love stainless, it's like the hotter sister of steel, who only sees you as a friend and nothing more... where the hell am i going with this....

Old Tired Rebel

Your welding skill are top notch. I really like the way you can't tell the holes were there.

Baldwinvette77

Your kind words are appreciated  :yesnod: , however it's really nothing special, and im sure you'll be able to do similar repairs within a few months time of practice, if even that long.

if you lived closer, i would't mind giving you my old black welder, its still usable as a gasless welder, but then again, im sure you'd be able to find a good used one locally   :scratchchin:

Old Tired Rebel

Yeah that would be a long drive lol.  How big of a welder are you using? I am thinking about getting this one.

Baldwinvette77

thats basically what i have, but i used a 240volt version, i've heard of people using 115 models typical trip there breakers often plus its runs up your bills more than a 240, ofcourse if you dont have an outlet, you will need to have one installed  :scratchchin:
