Looks good :2thumbs:  How difficult was it as I have to do the same in the same locations? :popcrn:

Baldwinvette77

i started at 12 pm and finished at 2 so it wasnt so bad, i used a bunch of cutting tools, dremals, air tools and a grinder with a cutting disc, which is pretty basic, the only problem i ran into was the amount of lead in the body, obviously you cant weld to it, and it was hiding some more rust, also i accidentally cut into the drip rail, but i welded it back to my new piece. bottom line: its pretty basic, Goodluck

Is the guy in Peterborough a retired Police Officer? There is another guy In shawville Quebec (Just outside of Ottawa), with barns full of Mopars and mopar parts. His name is Fred, i have his number if your interested.

I think you are thinking about the guy named Robert (OR Bob ) Prior
He now lives out around Lindsay

(He followed me for 1/2 hour one day when I was bring home a 70 Charger parts car and he finally honked to get me to stop as he wanted to buy the bucket seats out of the car)

Ya, Bob Prior was a retired Toronto cop who use to go on road trips in his red Dodge Ram to get Chargers and bring them back home to part them out. He was a neighbour of mine when I lived in Sharon Ontario. I saw many a rough Charger go into his garage only to see a carcass come out a few weeks later. He had a Daytona project car in his garage too from what I remember. I think he sold it at the Nationals or Carlisle because I remember him loading it onto his trailer around the time of one of those shows and I never saw it come back.

I remember meeting Mark from Peterborough too. He bought a hood deck lid and 69 grille from me several years ago.

Yep, lotsa mopar guys in Southern Ontario....

I'll get it one piece at a time and it won't cost me a dime :drive:

Some other things i just finished, a split near the front of the drivers quarter, and i fit the pedal, column and coronet dash, i also removed the column shift, since its no use to me

Tell you right now, chopping them off isn't a good idea. Sure, if you got some Mega buck build with all newer car designed seals around you glass, then go for it, but then again, that would kinda defeat the purpose of this build now would'nt it?

If you do not mind leaks around the side glass, then go for it and chop 'em off.

Theres lots of paint on this one!  :D

And yeah i decided to keep them, I simply dont want to have to weld the seam beween the a-pillars to the c-pillars

Baldwinvette77

Well i ran out of my first bottle of argon today, simultaneously i ran out of my 7th roll of welding wire. Anywho, i managed to tack together a couple pieces mainly a small hole in the trunk and another in the trans tunnel.

also i found a couple more parts, which i haven't taken pictures of yet, but ill get them, they are a copper 1969 hood, and a green rusty 68 passenger fender with some cool 70's paintwork.

still need to track down a drivers fender a front bumper and repair my front valance.

also i'll be swapping my butchered 68 taillight panel, for a near-pristine 69 panel, when that arrives  :smash:

Baldwinvette77

started the trans tunnel, its from a 77 corvette, if you care to know, it basically fell in place, after some small modifications  :hack:

Well......the bar is set pretty low.....can't get much lower to start with, then 'glass and an old sign.

I like the low $$$ approach....trunk floor looks like it will be strong and functional. :2thumbs:

I hope so, all the sheets are 16 ga. and the cross members are 1/8" plate, it might be overkill, but all of it was free so i can't nitpick  :slap:

Wow, lots of work done since  I last saw this thread.  Keep it up

Rosco

I freakin' love this build! Keep it up!  :2thumbs:
And I like how you're replacing the taillight panel with a '69 one! I'm toying with the idea of getting a '68 grille for my '69. Best combination possible!
"She needs premium, Dude! PREMIUM!!"

Baldwinvette77

Indeed!!!! from the front its a 68, from the back, its a 69, and overall it has the feel of a 70, it's the best compromise for someone like me who can't choose 1 year alone

toocheaptosmoke

If I had a choice I'd have gone with a '68 front end and '69 tail lights as well.  :coolgleamA:

Nice progress man, love the photo names btw.    Anxiously awaiting pictures of the old school paint on the fender, I need some inspiration for my paint job.   :icon_smile_big: :2thumbs:
