its a great day out, and i have nothing to do  :rotz: thats when i realized i never took pictures of my coronet grille, so yeah here ya go

im not sure if it looks cool or lame, its kinda both, im thinking of painting it flat black and recessing it to mimic a 68 charger grille with the headlight doors open :scratchchin:

it too came off a green car, really whats with 60's mopars and the colour green  :eek2:

There were many that felt  :eek2: about the big wing and the nose at the time. Where are all those folks today?

WOOHOO!!! A bunch of crap showed up at my house today!!! , spring perches, shock plates, ubolts, shackles and brackets, half of it is universal, and for the first time in my life it looks like all these parts will work together without cutting or fabricating...  :rotz:

it feels strange buying new parts for this car, so much of it was 2nd hand.

Im not racist , but i got a kick out of reading "made in Mexico", On my mopar performance super stock springs

Better throw some paint over that.

Very cool build! I love the idea of the 500 grill.

well i canceled my summit racing control arm order because they were put on backorder for ANOTHER MONTH  :brickwall: i then ordered similar, less expensive parts from jegs which will hopefully be here by the end of the week, i mounted the rear suspension (minus the shocks) and need to set the pinion angle for the axle perches, i cut a couple notches in the front of the framerails to clearance the coil spring, baby steps, but my goal is to finish the front suspension then get the car on the ground, it would have been there by now if it wasn't for other peoples laziness, should have pictures and an update by sunday... oh dear god i hope so  :drool5:

bull

Got the same backorder story on an emblem, but from Jegs. It said the part would ship the following Monday (three weeks ago) and when they got my money they changed it to early August. :flame: It's just an emblem so I don't really care much but I just hate backorders.

The little stuff takes the wind out of the sails. Seems like you are doing a ton of work and when you look it doesn't seem like so much but you'll get through it I am sure.

I cannot wait to see more pictures of your project. Just keep going forward and it will get done! :2thumbs:

well small update, i finally got my control arms and immediately found 2 problems with them, 1. for some reason ford mustang control arms are not directly compatible with chevy corvette spindles and 2. neither of the before mention parts are directly compatible with a b-body.

so. to avoid have the struts grinding against the frame rails i cut a 1" tapered notch into the framerails, also found a rats nest inside the drivers side rail :shruggy:

the lower arms had to be flipped upside down and swap sides to accept the corvette spindle and the spindles had to be swap passenger to driver side to work with the mustang rack.

and i had to cut off the rearward ends of my k-member to make room for the lower arms travel, not like they were doing anything anyway, also welded up about 85% of everything so it could atleast take the weight of the car for now, eventually it will have to be removed again anyway, when i finally paint the car.

i also assembled the rear suspension temporarily just to get the car rolling, and ill get pictures of that eventually once the car is in good lighting, and will post again tomorrow or monday.

next things i need to do, is modify and weld in the upper shock mounts, and with the help of a neighbours ball-joint reamer ill hopefully convince the upper arms and the spindles to be friends

neither can i, except for the brake pedal, every other part i've gotten for the car has been or will need to be modified in some way or another  :drool5: and who knows i might even have to alter the pedal slightly  :hack:

my only friends  :rotz:

anyway, i just spent hours tearing my vette spindles new A**Holes and forced them into an intimate relationship with the upper balljoints. its almost like ford and chevy are enemies or something  :shruggy:

I really don't know anything about suspension geometry, but have you checked into this??  Is there a fixed "NORM" you set the are height to?? Should the arms be parallel to each other when the spindle is mounted??

I may have missed it if any of this has been addressed, but I don't recall. Then again, I can't remember if I have eaten anything today!!  :-\
