So....What are your plans for driving this thing Baldvette? You mentioned it has no title/info. so I was just wondering after all this work, someone should at least see it out somewhere if even on a trailer.

uhhh....  :scratchchin:  :whistling: :smash: :scratchchin: i'll cross that bridge when i get to it?... maybe  :shruggy:

in all seriousness, if you never read that part, i plan on registering it with the ontario rebuilt vehicle program

Rebuilt Vehicle:
Constructed using various main component parts (body, chassis or frame) obtained from other vehicles or from auto wreckers, dealers or manufacturers, and whose vehicle identification number (V.I.N.), make, model or model year has been affected by this reconstruction. Rebuilt vehicles are registered in Ontario as:
V.I.N.: Of body of the vehicle (CHASSIS/FRAME V.I.N. is not used). If there is no longer an existing V.I.N. on the dashboard, you may request the licence issuing office to provide you with a ministry - assigned as RBT V.I.N., which you should affix to the dashboard. A V.I.N is needed before you can obtain a Safety Standards Certificate.
MAKE: Manufacturer of body of the vehicle (CHASSIS/FRAME manufacturer is not used)
MODEL: RBT
MODEL YEAR: Year that the motor vehicle car was rebuilt and registered with the ministry

I got some more parts for the car today, including some coronet dash pieces i got for peanuts, a aftermarket gauge cluster for free (had the all important FUEL gauge!) pettyblue/hemi orange hood hinges, taillight pieces which was traded for the 68's a k-member and lower arms.. which will have to be slightly modified  :hack:

Baldwinvette77

And some other sexy pieces  :drool5:

Cooter

Hey Baldwinvette.

These are rough(READ FILLER), but I think you might be able to do something with 'em. If interested some time, lemme know. I have some Taillights as well.

i like your car an progress your making.great too see a young guy saving a mopar ,many would run from. stay at it an keep us posted on this build.   may sugest more stock suspension to save cost and get it rolling ,then undate it down the road.just an idea, :Twocents: :shruggy: .

hang in an have fun with ya car.a hotrod in primer, sealer say flat black would bee a hell of alot of fun without all the stress and money of a maga build. :popcrn: :popcrn:  :2thumbs: DJ a wing dreamer :coolgleamA:

Baldwinvette77

Your kind words are appreciated   i currently plan to use a stock k-member, lower arms, and aftermarket tubular arms for uppers, disc brake spindles, i would like to modify the lower arms to accept coil overs, im just not sold on torsion bars  :shruggy:, rear suspension will be stock style,as for paint, im thinking either flat black, or grey with a black front clip like a 68 hemi dart  :coolgleamA:

Steve P.

I'm kind of shocked to hear that. I sort of thought with your talents, you would build your own tubular K member and go to a rack and pinion.. Really I was kind of hoping to see you go that way!!  lol.. I have wanted to go that route myself, but at the rate I am going I will be long buried before that..

i'll have to see  im going with a rack and pinion, and coil overs, im not completely sure on if i'll go with this k-member or not, the man i bought it from is cool enough to let me return it if i choose to go another route, i mostly bought as a reference and to possibly chop it to pieces and reconstruct it  :whistling: the lower control arms are lame though, maybe i could make a k-member, theres an idea....i do have access to a bunch of square tubing  :scratchchin:

There are guys here on both sides of the fence on Factory with some extra welding to tighten them up and tubular K's. There are great points on both sides, but I much prefer tubular. Especially for the guys who are adding a cage to the car and tubes out to the nose.

I just want to try as many new things as possible, i will actually attempt to make a k-member that will accept gm style lower control arms and hopefully my spare corvette spindles, i'll just use the original one i found as a guide should be a fun experiment

Take a look here: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,90821.25.html

I like ALTERKTION and XV motorsports. If I had big bucks it would be XV for me. I believe they both show great value...

Here is Bill Reilly Motor Sports: http://www.reillymotorsports.com/store/home.php

Here is XV Motorsports: http://www.xvmotorsports.com/

I have not been on either site in a while so I don't know what pics they are showing anymore, but they had GREAT shots of their K's and both have ups and down in my opinion.

Also, last I heard many are using the later model Mustang Rack as it has a better turning circle. That was one complaint I had heard about Alter-K-tion. If that is fixed that is great..

yeah i've see a few of those, i get my steel tubing for free through my uncle, so i'll take a shot at fabbing something first, then run to the aftermarket if it fails

Try to not paint yourself into a corner with all this creative front suspension/K frame stuff
Remember you still have to get someone to look the car over to say it is in safe condition to get the ownership part worked out
If you start cutting and hacking things together (like the rest of your car :) ) it might make getting the papers tougher
Just a thought
(but then again maybe that K frame will see those round tail lights again)

This is true  :scratchchin:, well then it sucks to be the government, because im glad to say that my new k-member is well on its way, already 50% done fabricating a prototype, im gonna patent that S.O.B When its done  :coolgleamA:

Steve P.

I just wanted you to see the K's that are out there now. Wasn't hinting toward buying one. You got SKILLS. Why not put them to use all the way!!!  :2thumbs:

Sure those GM parts won't make the car spontaneously combust?  :D
