I think it should be available to those who need/want it but taxed and regulated like tobacco, booze etc.
I certianly don't want a generation or two of impared people leading our country, controlling our military and making decisions for the rest of us. Too late? Probably.

her in oz even the terminal ill /cancer sufferers  etc can't legally have this stuff , you should be grateful that they can get it in your country!  on the same topic i don't think its any worse that booze ,to much of anything is bad for you.  seems wrong that someone in a position of power can get smashed and that's alright but if the same person gets stoned their crucified!

I've been down that cancer road and back. The only ones that want/need pot for pain are those that use it on a regular basis anyway.    There are plenty of other things that are legal that they can have.

I believe it should be legal everywhere, heck if it grows out of the ground and there is no process to make it then I say God put it there for a reason. Do I smoke weed, No. Have I ever done it? Yes. Only reason it is illegal is the goverment can't tax it like cigarettes and alcohol as anyone can grow a plant easier than making alcohol or cigarettes.

Anything is a big deal if its made to be one...and FYI with all the problems out there today I think a bowl a day would do some good. Laws just make good citizens into criminals and make plants into "drugs".

One thing you are right about, The law makes no concessions for morality and it shows. This is why we are in the predicament we are in now with killing our babies... and other things like the current subject.

I have a sister that is 4 years older than I am. She was very intelligent in school when she graduated school and could have gone to college if she had wanted, but she ended up marrying a guy that was about as worthless as they come. They were heavy into smoking pot and probably a lot more until he died maybe 4 years ago and now, today, with all the crap she put through her body, she has the mentality of a flippin coat rack.

Most people don't see it being anything worse than a beer or shot of whiskey and until maybe 10 years ago I agreed, but now I see it as a little more than that.

The biggies - rape, murder, assault, theft, drunk driving, whatever - sure, but if you broke it down probably 99.999% of laws are there just for the sake of defining boundaries between people or keeping order.   Is jaywalking morally wrong?   Parking in a no-parking zone?   Loitering? 

Legal doesn't always mean moral.   And different people have different sets of morals, so it's wise to not legislate those unless it's universally agreed there needs to be a law for it.
