Mopar Collectors Guide article on my General Lee

Some of you who subscribe to Mopar Collectors Guide may have seen that my General Lee is in the latest issue (May '13). I was pretty pumped to see the article make it in the magazine but I just wanted to point out that there are a few errors in the article, as far as accuracy goes.  I know there are a lot of knowledgable General Lee fans here on the forum who know a lot when it comes to details like the back of their hand.

One error is where they said four Chargers were used for the Reunion... meaning the 1997 Reunion. This is correct for the '00 Reunion, but only three cars were used for the '97 Reunion. ('97 used three, '00 used the same three with the addition of John Schneider's personal car).

Another error in the article was where he talks about the car being the same one that is seen in the barn at the beginning of the '97 Reunion (Romeo's car). This is true but the details were wrong. The article says the proof of it being the same car is from seeing factory yellow paint in the trunk compartment. I don't know where he got that from because you never see the trunk from that scene. The proof that it is the same car is actually a lot more simple than that. My car is the only one that does not have the two chrome bumperettes on the front bumper. You can see it plain as day.

Other than that, I can't recall anything else that was wrong at the moment. Just thought I should clear that up before the nay-sayers call the whole article junk. The magazine articles are always great for research and reference purposes but they're humans too and can make mistakes.

Yeah! Who'da thunk it?!  Haha. Thanks. I was pumped mostly because this is the first time one of my personal cars made it in a magazine. I figured I'd post the corrections here because I know MCG gets a lot of negative comments over what they publish.  Like I said, we're all human.  Plus, a lot of the information in their articles come direct from the owner of the car. If the owner doesn't do his homework, MCG gets the trash talk. There are a lot of knowledgeable GL guys here... So I figured I answer questions before they come up.

Yes, this is the same magazine that was against the '70s era Superbird getting restored (Jan. '09), but all of the comments were directed towards the owner restoring the car and putting it back to original.  Oh well, the car needed a restoration one way or another.

Congrats, man.  I know you've been planning on resurrecting that car for a long time.  It'll be great to see it happen.
